FAQs

When and how long are your planting contracts?

Projects run approximately 45 working days, so you will be expected to commit to working from May 3 to June 30. Approximately 50% of the land we plant is mechanically prepared, usually by a Donaren trencher.

Our crews plant 8 to 10 hours per day, 5 to 6 days per week, depending on the project. Some projects run a little longer, so work may be available beyond the above time frame.

How do you pay tree planters?

We pay tree planters on a piecework basis. Our planting rates are equal to or above industry averages.

What are your camps like?

We do all the cooking! Our professional cooks provide nutritious meat and vegetarian meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Camp facilities include kitchen, eating area, drying facilities for clothing, showers, and toilets. Planters must supply their own personal camping equipment. Camp fees are $25 per day.

We’ll try to place you in the camp of your choice, especially if you want to join your friends at one of our camps. But this is done on a first-come, first-served basis. So be sure to arrange this as early as possible.

How do I get to camp?

You’re responsible for your own transportation to and from our camps. We provide daily transportation to the work site for all employees.

What equipment do I need?

We work in all weather conditions. So you must come prepared and bring appropriate clothing and your own personal gear and planting equipment. If you don’t already have planting gear, you can purchase it from us when you arrive. Visit Tree-Planter.com for more information personal gear and equipment.
