PRT Beaverlodge

PRT Beaverlodge offers custom-growing programs that provide well-conditioned seedlings for summer and spring planting. The nursery operates a cold storage facility with capacity for approximately four million seedlings for spring planting and a custom thawing area that helps to improve plantation establishment. Primary products include:

  • 1+0 container-grown interior spruce and lodgepole pine seedlings
  • Nutri-plug™ seedlings (contains controlled-release fertilizer)

Specialty products

  • 2+0 stock types. Grown at PRT’s southern nurseries at Nelson and Campbell River, BC, the seedlings are produced under favorable climatic conditions to minimize over-wintering risks. These well-conditioned, robust and well-balanced seedlings offer excellent value for various site conditions. 2+0 seedlings are typically planted in mid-July when field moisture is at its best and seedlings are fully acclimated with maximum diameter growth and root growth potential. Large container-grown seedlings, which reach the free-to-grow stage faster, are available for difficult sites.
