At PRT, we place an emphasis on taking care of our natural resources and this includes one of our most important resources our employees! This fall, we are delighted to have three very talented employees take on new Nursery Manager positions within PRT. Each person has several years of experience with PRT, as well as impressive international credentials.
3 Billion Seedlings, Gloves and Cake: PRT Marks 25th Anniversary
On September 5, PRT staff and management gathered to celebrate 25 years of growth. Since the start of the company in 1988, PRT has produced over 3 billion seedlings and we have established ourselves as North America's largest grower of container seedlings for reforestation.
The Goldilocks Approach to Planting
You want to give your seedlings a great start, so it is worth taking the time to find the best places to plant them. Microsite planting means choosing a planting spot that has the greatest potential for seedling establishment and enhanced growth. Planters who take the time to select good microsites can make a big difference to the growth of a new forest.
Handle With Care
PRT works hard to ensure that quality seedlings leave our nurseries in optimum condition, but poor stock handling once the seedlings leave the nursery can destroy all of these efforts and jeopardize the success of your planting program.
